Vivek Ashok Sakhrani

Advisor – Project Design & Architecture

Vivek Sakhrani is currently Head of Applied Data Science, Atlas AI, New York, NY. Most recently, he was Principal and Global Director – Infrastructure Analytics at CPCS, a management consulting firm providing strategic advisory services specific to transportation and power infrastructure, operations, investment, policy and regulation.

Vivek is an expert on public and private sector infrastructure project collaboration approaches. He has worked with local, regional and national governments to assess the relative impacts of different modes of infrastructure delivery, including Public-Private Partnerships (P3s). This work has spanned power, water, desalination and transportation projects around the world. Vivek’s approach has been to provide policy-relevant advice based on data-intensive strategic frameworks and detailed analytic investigations.

Prior to joining CPCS, Vivek led and published research in a number of initiatives at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), was a Research Affiliate in the Center for Energy & Environmental Policy Research (CEEPR), a researcher and lead modeler at the KACST-MIT Center for Complex Engineering Systems, and a Fellow of the MIT Tata Center for Technology + Design.

Vivek received both his PhD (Engineering Systems) and Master’s (Technology and Policy) from MIT. He received his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the Cockrell School of Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin.
